- When a sperm and egg meet they can transform into any specialized cell.
Embryonic Stem Cells
- Can turn into any type of cell
Tissue Stem Cells
- Can only turn into certain types of cells.
- Ex:
- Bone marrow can only produce cells that directly interact with the cardiovascular system.
Somatic Cells
- They are any cells other than sperm or egg cells.
- They have 2 sets of chromosomes, whereas reproductive cells have 1 set.
Nuclear
- Nucleus that holds the DNA.
Transfer
- Moving one asomatic cell to another specimen to transfer the DNA information that would then be put into a somatic cell to be fertilized and make an embryo.
