• Modern
• Because of Interdependence
  • We rely on others to provide our life.
  • Famers provide food for everyone.
  • Engineers make the cars.
  • Mechanics fix them.
  • Etc.
• More independence, diversity and such results in it being harder to gain Solidarity.
  • Needs and desires of people changes as they have more freedom and are more specialized.
  • We don't need to sacrifice something individually for the good of the community.
  • Sanctions to address harms someone does. Done because now we have more individual relations, versus communal relations.
• The legal system ends up being part of what gets us Solidarity.
