Axioms of Probability

  1. P(A)0
    • We can't have a negative chance of something happening.
  2. P(S)=1
    • The total probability of our sample space should add up to 1.
  3. If A1,A2,A3, are a sequence of pairwise mutually disjoint / exclusive, P(A1A2)=P(A1)+P(A2)+
    • Since all events are disjoint, there is no overlap or intersecting points or events in our sample space.
